ABOUT THE MAKEUP

Why use a  Makeup Artist?

A professional has been trained in the “Art of Makeup”. Just as a fine artist creates a flawless painting with dimension and color, a true makeup artist knows how to create the best color story for their canvas, you! Photos have a tendency to enhance small blemishes or can embellish facial flaws. As a makeup specialist, I know how to use color and contouring to create precise dimension to the eye and face. Not only will you will have "once in a life time" memories, you'll also have gorgeous photos to look back at years from now!

With so many Makeup Artists to choose from, how can I decide which one to hire?

With so many decisions to make for your wedding day, it can be difficult to decide on an artist. Communication is the key! Interview a couple of different artists, and see which one fit's with your personality the best. Be vocal about what your needs are, and what is important to you, as the bride!

I'm not sure what I want, how do I communicate this with the Artist?

If your not sure what look you would like, start with what you definetly don’t like. Weed these out, and ask for suggestions from the artist. A great artist will base their ideas on your style, skin tone, coloring, and overall personality to make you look like you, but better! A good way to insure that your visual interpretation is the same as the artist’s, is to find some color inspirations. Try tearing out faces of makeup from magazines that you like, even if it’s a lip, or an eye color. Bring these along to the trial run appointment, the artist will have a better idea of what your vision is.

What does it mean to have your makeup "Camera Ready"?

To be Camera Ready is a professional term for the many makeup techniques that must be applied to ensure that the camera doesn't pick up flaws that you may not be aware of. A camera lens - whether you are shooting in color or black & white - can pick up flaws in the skin, as well as exaggerate facial features such as a larger nose, long chin, etc.

Airbrushing vs. Traditional Makeup
As a professional MUA for 8+ years, I have seen a lot of makeup trends and fads come and go. Airbrushing was popularized as a "art form" and is perfect for print/fashion. The make up itself is neither "natural" nor longlasting. It sits on the skin's surface regardless of how thin a layer is applied and it can run and melt in hot weather or on hot, nervous brides. It can come off on your dress, his collar...in the right hands, it looks flawless but not necessarily natural up close. If airbrush makeup streaks from perspiration or tears it cannot simply be blended in, but must be removed and reapplied.  I apply M.A.C. Makeup  with a foundation brush and it always looks flawless, even up close, HD and all.

 ABOUT THE POLICY

Is there
a money back guarantee for the cost of a trial run should I not be perfectly happy?
There is no refund of the amount charged for a trial run. Even if you and I are not a right "fit" for each other - a service has been provided and thus payment is made for that service.

Do you have references?
Yes, I do. Please send your request via email.

Do you require a booking agreement and deposit?
Yes, the retainer and deposit insures that the date that you are requesting has been reserved for your event. Since weddings are usually planned a year in advance the "wedding season" weekends are reserved quickly.  This deposit goes towards the total amount of your makeup application on your wedding day. The deposit and retainer agreement must be completed at the same time.

If for any reason I need to cancel before the wedding, is my deposit refundable?
The booking fee/deposit is refundable upto 90 days before the event was scheduled. After 90 days the deposit is no longer refundable.

What if I need to rearrange the time booked or the onsite-location after I signed the agreement?
If you need to make adjustments to the schedule or the location, I ask for at least  2 week's notice.

What if I schedule applications for my bridal party or family members on my wedding day but they decide to not get their makeup done?
In most cases there has been a discount or package arranged for larger parties. This amount is based off of the number of applications for that day. If someone chooses not to participate even though they agreed and were booked ahead of time, payment still needs to be made for that alloted time. There are NO CANCELATIONS accepted on the day of the event.

Do you charge a travel fee?
Yes,  if my travel exceeds 20 miles a charge of .75/per mile will be incurred. This fee is determined ahead of time by the amount of miles driven according to mapquest.com. This will be included on your invoice 2 weeks before your event.

Do you charge an extra fee for booking on a Sunday or holidays?
There is an additional charge of $25 dollars for booking on a Sunday or holidays.

I haven't booked a photographer yet, would you recommend anyone?
I have had the pleasure of working with some very talented photographers, and I would be happy to give you their information.

Would you like me to review your work? If so where would you like me to review you?
Yes! A review helps other clients and brides like yourself, to get to know more about me as an artist and the kind of work that I do. You can review me HERE
